Social media is great for facilitating conversations between friends and strangers. Unfortunately, it also facilitates conversations between (or from) people who should not be having them. I’m sure many of you read this example from Mashable today. There has also been increasing attention being paid to harassment on Twitter, especially of women. Twitter has been faulted in the past for not dealing with this problem well, but their CEO recently made statements suggesting that they will take much stronger steps to curb this behavior, as much as it will be challenging to do so.
How do you think Twitter and other social media channels should deal with threats and harassment of their users?
